Winner of five Emmys, top awards in educational media, and hundreds of other industry accolades, Billy Pittard isn’t your average creative guy. While screens are the common factor among most of his work, the essence of his work is about creating great experiences for people – whether it’s entertainment, learning, or commerce.
His work in media reaches far and wide. Early in his career, he became known for his work with motion design and was responsible for hundreds of main titles for television and film including ER, Nature, The West Wing, and Groundhog Day. That work expanded in many directions such as on air brand identities for TV networks, commercials, infomercials, music videos, and short films.
With the rise of interactive media, he managed pioneering work for interactive platforms such as TiVo, AOL Plus (broadband), and ABC.com.
He combined his skills with communications, interactivity, and motion design to create unprecedented interactive educational programs including algebra’scool and Super Size Me eeDVD.
Not satisfied with the available media platforms, he invented of the ZOOOOS Interactive Video System which has been granted patents throughout the world. For this platform, he created an award-winning series of interactive educational DVDs for children.
He has served as Executive Producer for over thirty documentary films for Lynda.com, including their flagship series, Creative Inspirations. These documentaries have proven to be among the most popular content on the site.
With a degree in Advertising and his first job in the marketing department of a television station, his work was communications-oriented from the start. As cable television grew into existence, and the medium of television began to mature, he grabbed the opportunity to launch new networks with strong brand foundations, and to help established networks become more competitive with their packaging and brand identities. As he and his team developed unequalled experience and success in the field of branding TV networks, they became the go-to source for brand strategy and implementation for TV networks as well as other media entities. His branding work spans over 200 television network brand identities around the world such as ABC, CBS, TNT, Food Network, Lifetime, Showtime, and DirecTV in the U.S. Outside the U.S. his work includes ProSieben, Germany; Sky, UK; TF1, France; Wizja, Poland; Shop Channel, Japan; Fox Latin America; and many others.

While producing an enormous body of work and managing hundreds of top creative professionals, he has taken the opportunity to study what makes great work possible.
